BASIC INFORMATION AND RULES
ENROLLMENT: Enrollment is limited. Our hope is to have enough room for all children wishing to participate in the Afterschool Program. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Children who register after program enrollment capacity is reached will be placed on a waiting list.
HOMEWORK: Children will have an opportunity to complete assigned homework in accordance with St. Elizabeth’s grade level guidelines on appropriate homework time increments. The Afterschool Program does not guarantee that all homework will be completed. Help is always available upon students’ request.
ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is important. Children who have three (3) unexcused absences or are picked up early on a regular basis (more than 2 days per month, every week on the same day, etc.), will be asked to leave the program to make room for children on the waiting list. Students attend the Afterschool Program only when they attend school. Children are expected to stay for the entire program every day (programs end between 5:40 and 6:00 p.m.). 21st Century’s excused absences include illness, occasional appointments (doctor, dentist, etc.), and court mandated appointments.
STUDENT PICK-UP: Children participating in the Afterschool Program must be signed out by you or someone chosen by you. Your child must be picked-up promptly at the end of the program (by 6:00 p.m.). If your child has not been picked up by the end of the program, Program staff will try to contact you and/or those individuals designated as emergency contacts. If no one is available to pick the child up after 6.15 p.m., he or she will be brought to the convent at 1555 34th Ave (Ph: 510 – 5328344). Late pick-up fee ($ 1.00 / minute) will be applied after 6.00 p.m.
BEHAVIOR AND DISCIPLINE: We follow St. Elizabeth Elementary School’s behavior and discipline policies. The 21st CCLC Program strives to provide a warm and welcoming environment for students and families. We expect everyone; adult and children, in our community to behave in a respectful, responsible and caring manner toward one another. Any form of lewd behavior, bullying, aggression, violence, disrespect or foul language will not be tolerated. Clothing, toys, books or any other objects depicting, displaying or supporting any of the aforementioned will not be allowed. Participation in the Afterschool Program is a privilege. A child must keep program agreements: Be safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Have fun. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior toward other students or Program staff is reason for dismissal. Acts of violence toward another person will not be tolerated. We encourage you to discuss concerns about your child’s behavior with the Site Director.
PARENTAL SUPPORT: Though the Program staff is committed and qualified, your help is needed to make the Afterschool Program be the very best it can be. You are an important partner in our program’s success, and we look forward to your help with field trips, events and activities, tutoring and other projects.
