Healthy Lunch Program

Healthy lunches continue to be a goal. The cafeteria provides a daily lunch option for students (grades K-8) who wish to purchase lunch at school. There is a single-item “entrée” provided each day (e.g. salad bar, hamburger, pizza, burrito, potato bar, etc.). This item and the price are listed on the calendar that goes home before the first of each month. There are other supplementary food items available at varying prices for purchase as well; drinks, snack items, etc. Every effort is made to provide nutritious food if children wish to purchase lunch instead of bringing it. Salad bar occurs each Wednesday.

Children who don’t buy lunch must bring a healthy lunch with them. Parents are requested to deliver lunches to the children in the cafeteria, not in their classroom. Children need to eat at snack and lunchtime. No fast food is allowed to be brought to school. No pizza, hamburgers, French fries, etc. On birthdays a simple dessert may be brought to school.
