Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Saint Elizabeth Elementary School!
Located in the vibrant Fruitvale District of Oakland, California, Saint Elizabeth Elementary School has been joyfully serving students and families since 1893, when we were founded by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. Rooted in a rich tradition of Catholic education, we welcome learners from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade into a community where every child is known, loved, and inspired to grow.
At Saint Elizabeth, we offer more than a strong academic program—we provide a foundation of faith and character that sustains children for a lifetime. Our students are encouraged to ask big questions, think critically, and develop a genuine passion for learning. Through a dynamic blend of rigorous academics, personalized instruction, and a values-based approach, we prepare students not only for success in high school and beyond, but for lives of purpose and service.
As a Catholic school, our mission is deeply rooted in Gospel values. We form leaders who are compassionate, confident, and committed to serving others—especially the most vulnerable in our society. Our students learn to communicate clearly, listen actively, and respect the dignity of every person, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church.
We warmly invite you to visit and see firsthand the joy, energy, and excellence that make our school so special. Whether you are seeking a nurturing environment, strong academics, or a faith-filled community for your child, Saint Elizabeth Elementary School is a place where your family can grow and thrive.
Come and discover what makes St. Elizabeth a remarkable place to begin your child’s lifelong journey of faith and learning.
